currently have a jayco and looking into a shamrock 21ss, hows the quality on the forest river products? and quirks they have that i should look for when looking at one?
Asked and answered before. Search Forestriver or Forestriver quality. FR is conglomerate of 6 companies with multiple factories each. FR and Palomino offer second year warranty for low cost. Annual rally fixes anything on a FR product free. Factory repair seems easier to arrange than other brands.
We left crossroads for coachmen (FR) because of issues. So far has been great, but it may be too soon to tell. FR like Thor has different plants and division so there may be differences. Check out those previously mentioned sites. I used them before deciding.
You can go to irv.com and forestriverforums.com and have enough reading to take up a couple of days. My take (and I traded my FR for a Montana) is FR is so big that quality depends on the factory in which they are made, some good and some bad.
Im on my second FR product (2016 Prime Time Lacrosse). Im very happy with their product overall. A few minor issues with my new Lacrosse, but nothing the dealer hasn't been able to handle under warranty. Had a couple of questions I posed to FR direct via their Prime Time website, and have received response back within a day or so each time.
We have had two Forest River products and both have been nice. Not with out some issues when new but taken care of under warranty. Ran into a couple this last weekend that had 3 Jayco unit and loved them, but the last one was nothing but problems. That was there own words. They were looking at the Forest River units this time.
Almost all the builders get the supplies form the same few suppliers, as the pool of vendors has gotten smaller over the last few years. The big guys have purchased the smaller one out, or have merged together.
I have the 2004 FLAGSTAFF 5th wheel series. I think they belong to same company as the Forest River. They at least were both in the same lot where I got my trailer in Manassas VA...
