I live in a close knit subdivision where the lots are only 1/4 acre. I barely have enough room to store my TT on the side of the house, right up against the neighbors property line. So in theory, it would be very difficult for someone to just pull up and tow away my TT without the neighbors seeing what happened. But just last month the neighbor across the street got broken into. They went around to the back of the house, broke through a window, and stole some jewelry.
And also, neighbors may notice what is going on, but I doubt they would stop someone from towing our TT away. They may just assume we are having it serviced or maybe even selling it. I just think it is less likely to be stolen in a smaller neighborhood than on a property that is larger with easier access to a TT. I have a tongue lock on mine also, but realistically someone could probably bust it open quickly with a sledgehammer. Hopefully that would at least generate some attention from neighbors.
