Four weeks

Four weeks in Montana, the good and not so good.
First the weather was great except for the last few days in West Yellowstone. I fished the Big Horn and some of those browns fell to my flies. The weather was about a 100* not so good if no a/c. I stayed at Cottonwood CG for three nights. They have very reasonable rates.

Went onto fish the Boulder in Big Timber. When I got off the interstate I saw a sign for Pioneer Meats. I highly recommend them. I bought some apple smoked cinnamon bacon out standing to say the least.

From there I went to Bozeman and bought some Big O tires. They had a sale so I save $160.00. Greta service. I was in and out in under an hour. The TC was on the truck.

On to the Big Hole near Divide, MT where my truck was molested, yes, molested. About 2230 hrs the truck shook. I thought it was the wind, nope no wind. It shook again, maybe an earth quake, nope. A bear had tried to get into the truck through a window, no luck so it tried to climb on to the hood, nope, didn't make it. He did leave some scratches for a remembrance.

Made a stop in Dillon to get some LP at Amerigas. I bought some there last year and they gave me a card, three fill-ups and then a free one. I just need about two gallons. The manager gave me a deal I could not refuse plus he stamped my card. now in two years I'll get a free fill.

Onto Centennial Valley, beautiful area. We had wind at a bout 50mph and cold rain and lots of lightning. My friend who was following decided to leave the next day. On the way out he met a fire truck going to wildland fire. My friend slid into a ditch. My winch ws not big enough to pull him out. He had to get a wrecker from Island Park, ID. That took about an hour.

The rest of the trip was kinda uneventful except for the 50 mph cross winds on I 80 across WY.

Now the not so good. My friend has a new Lance 855s. He was have some issues with his water heater. It would not work on LP. He called the Lance dealer in Billings and was told they might be able to get to it by the first of the year. He then called the Lance dealer in Bozeman. He was tole they don't sell those water heaters in their Lance's they use a tankless system. I didn't know that was an option. A third call was made to an R/V repair in Bozeman. They said if the had the board they would fix it. They didn't have one. At least they tried.

Sounds like a great trip. Did I see you pass thru here on NE 2 on your way home?

You may have, that's the route I take.
