We ordered our 1150 with it. It is an expensive option but we, especially my wife, are very happy with it. It is very sturdy with reasonable sized steps and my wife really likes it compared to the various "scissor step" options she tried. We don't tow at this time but it is a nice option to have and I think it will allow us to easily add a rear hitch bike carrier.
One of the real nice features is the size of the "landing". You can easily stand on it and open the door. When coming back from hiking it sure is nice to step up, unlock the door and open it for the dogs while standing on the landing. Need to open the door to separate the screen door from the main door and latch the main door open? No problem, plenty of room on the "landing."
In regards to the number of steps it seems we are camping on inclines a lot. Sometimes all we need is the Fox Landing but most of the time it isn't enough. We have a two step plastic "step ladder" we use that works very nicely. Sometimes we need both of its steps:

Sometimes we only need one step. Because the ladder is very stable and has a large top step it works very well to just step off the top of the ladder and skip the first step on the Fox Landing:

The dogs have also learned to "charge up" without problems. The step ladder is also the right size for us to use it so the dogs can get into the back seat of the crew cab so the ladder serves double duty.
Speaking of which:
