I got my free oil change on my 2014 Ram Cummins . Cost $326 . Three hundred dollars for two fuel filters . I guess I gotta check on do it yourself !

If WIX filters are used by off road equipment and they have been around for 40-50-60 years how does that make them and inferior filter compared to OEM? Whose to say that OEM filters aren't made by WIX but have OEM markings on it? Just because your owners manual states that you use oil sold by GM, Ford, RAM etc, do you use that oil all the time? Same w/ DEF or fuel additives. If one had a serious problem that mfr said was caused by aftermarket use of oils, filters then the maker of such product should be contacted immediately.
Have heard the same question posed in snowmobile world about using Amzoil in place of factory oil. MFR has to PROVE the problem was caused by aftermarket oil and not just say it was to get out of paying for it to be repaired.
I guess using a CAT scale isn't any good either. I mean afterall, they guarantee the accuracy of their scales and if you got ticketed for being overweight after you used a CAT scale, they will immediately check the scale and if it goes to court, show up w/ you and pay the fine if need be.
I'd be leary YES of filters used by these fast place oil changes as they get whoever makes them the cheapest. If Wal-Mart sold filters under their name/brand (don't know if they do or not), but would you buy them just because your in Wal-Mart getting oil for your truck?
