The need to feed the service department is never more apparent than to those of us with electric vehicles. Technically they want you to do a battery check every second year but the warranty is not affected if you don't do it. Once a year you top up the washer fluid and that's pretty much it. Even brake checks are few and far between as it is regenerative. It will be interesting to see how the service departments deal with this change. Even the battery check is done by software on board. The first generation leaf batteries are subject to degradation in some hot environments. Total time to change one out is 3 hours. They are going to have to invent stuff to maintain. Times are a changing.
