Not the OP, but ...

1. Not all lights have signals that are only above. Some are at the side of the road and low.
2. Not always the first in line, angles change.
3. Looks out his side window which changes the angle.

Bridge clearance signs aren't usually viewed only after you get close ... unless you make a mistake and miss them earlier. I'm sure there are other ways to look at this issue. ;)

Drawing a line on your picture from driver eye level makes it about 30 degree up line of view.
Meaning standing 50 feet from the lights you will not see them 15 feet above.
Bridge clearance signs are even higher than that.

Yes... pure logic leads all to the same place! I have this page on my hard drive and we think alike my friend.. those are some good thoughts but you know, this deal was a 4 hour drive to another state and I think this may have happened for a reason. I am actually more relieved not to have to do that long drive than I am disappointed in loosing the deal. I just want something used that is nice this time and the longer I wait, the more cash I will have to get a good deal locally.. patience is required.. like it or not!

A lot of owners on here preach "find the camper, then get the truck to haul it". This thread seems like you want ideas to convince the owner to sell it to you. You could ask him to deliver it to your home because you do not want this gem to get away while you shop for a new truck.
Also, I looked up the 97 brochier to see if there were any specifications for cab length put out by lance and found a little info. Obviously they talk about weight, but they also show pictures of the said camper on a crew cab, extended cab, AND regular cap trucks. That was never an issue.. I started this string to get opinions about the safety of the nose but realize now the seller of the rig in question is not all quite together and it is a non issue... look at my truck in the pictures.. It's fine.. Thanks everyone for responding..

You are not going to be able to see the traffic lights if you are first in line and they are high up but you already know that from the one you have in the pic.

That's funny because I thought it did look a little strange and I looked everywhere for a shorty antenna that did not play the blinker louder than the am radio talk show host... As I mentioned, from inside it sort of felt like driving around in a huge ball cap... Oscar Mayer WeinerMobile anyone???
