Actually, "boomdocking" is a well known term of art -- it means camping way out in the wilderness so that you can celebrate the Fourth of July by setting off your own powerful fireworks. (Just watch out for stray sparks.)
And Leatherhead, it turns out that if you often let your batteries get too low (below 12.1 volts), they will deteriorate much more rapidly. Don't ask me how much money it cost me to really learn that lesson, or how many times I ran out of juice.
I now keep my batteries on a BatteryMinder Plus while at home. That thing is a fancy "pulsating" trickle charger -- it is supposed to avoid sulfation of the plates. (Some very knowledgeable folks say that this gizmo is an overpriced hoax, but it works for me, and besides I already paid for it, so I am stuck with it.)
What size batteries do you have on your RV? How many of them? And how old are they?
Be forewarned, by the way -- several of us (I won't mention names) are fanatics about proper battery maintenance. Other folks are more laid back. A third group really doesn't know much for sure, but they try to imitate the folks who do know. I am in that third group.
