Yep, if the light was plugged into a 110 outlet and running off of the inverter all night, that definitely could have killed your battery.
I only turn lights on at night if I'm actively using them. Otherwise, the only things running at night are the fridge (on propane, but still requires 12v), the 12v fan I plug in next to the bed, and the various safety detectors.
