That's a hassle IMHO.

We have been transporting our dog in the trailer in his Kennel. He won't get in the Excursion. We just leave a couple of vents open, and the temps don't get that bad. We let im out for walk every stop.

Is there any way to do something like that with the Trailmanor or Aliner? I realize you would have to open it up to some extent to get him in and out.

I think they've finally done away with the recirculating toilets (worthless, IMHO) on the new ones, replacing them with a cassette potty. Right now he is towing it with a beefed up 4Runner. He says it
seems to tow fine. They did not go with a TT as they did not want
to purchase the required TV. They are pretty light weight. As I recall,
the propane cylinders are up front ,laid on their sides in
tandem with a release tray type mech. for access. Internal square
footage living space is pretty amazing when compared with the
closed-up view. As we live in the desert, the rain issue is farther
down the list here then most locations. The first time set-up was
about 10 min. ...as he gets more familiar I think that will be
halved.

They get good money for the new ones. And the gently used ones seem
to hold good resale value... and move quickly.

I think it should be compared to other hard-sided folding units like Aliners and HiLos, not full sized travel trailers necessitating full-sized dedicated TVs and poor gas mileage towing.

I think it's sweet. I like that slide out front section. Is it electrically powered or does one have to pull it out manually? Also where does one keep the propane tank(s)? Does it have a sofa in that front slide or something else?

What does your friend tow it with and what kind of gas mileage do they get towing? I recently returned from a trip to the Smokies pulling my Aliner LXE with my 2.4l Cobalt. I got just about the best gas mileage ever - and my car now has over 250,000 miles on the clock (almost 50,000 miles towing) I got 26 mpg going and 25 mpg on the return leg, driving a little faster. This allows me to use my daily driver econobox to double as a TV saving not only on fuel, but the cost, maintenance, repairs, taxes, registration and insurance of a dedicated TV that I would only use a couple times a year - probably $4,000-$5,000/yr in total savings.

BTW, my Aliner pops-up in 30 seconds, making road-side potty breaks/rest stops and rainy day set-ups only a minor inconvenience - certainly worth saving several thousands of dollars every year.

Looked at these a couple of times so we could keep the vehicle we had at the time. As someone said, no way to use bathroom nor get any gear without some setup. Also, there is too much setup for me once you get to your destination. In a regular TT if the weather is bad-you could just run from your vehicle to the TT and wait it out. In a Trailmanor like yours there isn't that option.

We just got one a few months ago. We love it.

Yes, you need to open it up to fill it and also get to the water, but one the first couple of steps, and it only takes a couple of minutes.

It is so much easier and more comfortable that our old Coleman HW trailer.

We looked at them many times in the past.

The biggest draw-back is that when the trailer is folded closed, there is no way to get inside the trailer for loading (or unloaded) gear. The doors do not line up such as with the Hi-Lo we purchased at the time. Also; a problem with filling the water-tank when closed, and refilling the propane tank. I do not know if the last two problems were addressed more recently.

We could either crawl into the Hi-Lo when all the way down, or raise it about 2/3rds the way while stored in the garage of our town-house.

We did like the Trailmanor better when setup. If we lived in a house where we could have stored the trailer we could have lived with the short-comings.
