with the camper van it was so much easier to stop and sleep, ie fit into a regular spot, just stand up , few steps and lay down,,
also not have to worry about the jack legs sticken out of the sides.( yes im a worry wart so to speak, alway worry that someone will run into them. extra hight to worry about.. ride is much more bouncy on expasion joints the the interstate. gas mileage 11 with truck camper vs 18 with the van,,(gas truck, i hate the smell of Diesel fuel ) PS my van was a chevy g20 that i made into a camper van, so it did not have all the great things of a class B camper van.. each has it's pluses and minuses.. with the Van I was stealthy so to speak,, IE could park and sleep at lots more places and not worry. with the truck camper it takes lots more planing.. IT's all in how you plan to travel.. the truck camper with all the goodies is much nicer then the homemade camper i made.. hindsint is i wish i spent the 11 grand i payed for the truck camper and built a better canper van after having a truck camper.. I'll also Add it's just me then i travel. :( everyone's needs are different.. IF I put a pen to paper and wrote out a pluses and minuses list !! i would of not chose a truck camper.. so my advise is to pen and paper it out so to speak..
