There was a guy on the Tiger Yahoo group a few years back who tried a spare tire mount on the front so he could carry a motorbike on the rear. This was on a D/A '06 Chevy Silverado chassis. IIRC, he said that the water temp didn't change noticeably, but the transmission temp went up about 10 degrees on i-state cruising.
