What make, year and model is your RV? Several manufacturers have had issues with 2011 to 2013 models with colored front caps fading due to a defect with the paint used by the cap manufacturer. Keystone has been honoring warranty claims for this fading issue by repainting the caps.
This condition causes serious fading mostly on the upper portion of the cap.
I have a brown cap and don't appear to have this issue yet. I apply NuFinish polish on it every couple of months and it looks good.

Interesting to read this. We just purchased a Jayco Eagle 266RKS which has a brown front on it. I'll have to pass this on to my husband. I know he has already waxed it with the McGuires. Thank you for the alert - we will keep an eye on it.

We had this issue with our 2013 Dutchmen Denali. Fortunately for us we had a local dealership go to bat for us and we were able to have the front cap repainted at no cost. Many people who have had this problem have not been as lucky as we were,and it seems to be a best kept secret that there seems to be a flaw with the paint.

I tried everything to keep it looking nice but even the minimal sun we get here destroyed the finish.
I ended up getting a local shop (Ollies fiberglass repair in Lynnwood Wa.) to repaint it using a two part epoxy paint. That was three years ago and it still looks better than new.
It's a spendy solution (I paid $800) but the problem is permanently solved.

Best things to keep a trailer from fading in descending order. A garage, a car port, a trailer cover. In my experience there is no magic wax that is going to make a significant reduction in fading better than a cheap no name wax.

A carport has worked well for my boat (barely visible on the left). That's why I had one of these installed. The brown nose is pointing north.

nice to have a heads up, I have a new brown nosed trailer. I bought a cover, but it will still spend 4 months a year in Mexico. I guess I will put 303 on it monthly down there.

That's a nice cover. What are the dimensions? I'm seriously considering doing this...I'd like to be able to pull thru it, but also would like 3 sides enclosed. Can't have everything...

Thank you! This one is 18 X 31 with 11 foot legs. Height is more than needed, but gives some growing room, just in case. Width is more than needed, but next smaller width is 12' and I'm not that good at backing. This also gives room for opening the slide and provides more shade for the sides.

Have not owned a fiberglass trailer but am interested if the fading discussed is primarily an issue with just the front (cap) or if sides/rear also fade? Is it just the paint or are decals also prone to fading?

We were looking very closely at the Jayco Eagle but had concerns about delamination and fading.
