I tried everything to keep it looking nice but even the minimal sun we get here destroyed the finish.
I ended up getting a local shop (Ollies fiberglass repair in Lynnwood Wa.) to repaint it using a two part epoxy paint. That was three years ago and it still looks better than new.
It's a spendy solution (I paid $800) but the problem is permanently solved.
