This isn’t the place to ask.
There is a forum for Cummins owners, with an obvious name (I don’t know if we’re allowed to link other forums) where you can do some research.
You have a Dana 60 front end, and it’s a kinda crummy version of one.
You can swap parts from a ‘95-‘97 Ford style Dana 60 and you can install later model steering parts.
In the process you’ll get manual front locking hubs, which are a superior setup over the Dodge “Central Axle Disconnect” setup.
When things keep breaking, make them better when you fix it.
The ‘94-‘02 “2nd Gen” Dodge is a great truck but it has its issues that need to be improved. That’s one of ‘em.
You can also install later model steering without swapping the Ford outer axle parts. And you can put on “3rd gen” brakes, which are larger.
His truck is 2wd. It doesn't have a Dana 60 or anything like it in the front.
OP, your truck is not going to suffer from the issues that the 4wd models have. Make sure your front end has no loose/worn parts and it will last forever. I recommend Moog from RockAuto.com if you need any replacement parts. If you prefer to walk into a store and buy them, you can get them from O'Reilly Auto Parts, but you will pay more.
The 94-02 4wd Rams do have a lot of issues with worn out track bars and wandering all over the road. Once fixed with a real aftermarket solution, they are good trucks.
