I read that Dodge pickup trucks are notorious for having problems with the front end, but spending $2000-$3000 every 2 years on front ends seems insane.
What's your experience with this problem? Especially on the vehicle you use to haul your TC?
When we drove our “new” 2002 Dodge 2WD (with 18k miles) carrying a Northern Lite 10-2 from Idaho to Denver, we were afraid to drive over 55 mph because of the loose front end. I bought a kit to reinforce the front end and had it installed. The kit was less than $200, as was the installation. That solved the problem. We now have around 40k miles and still no problem. I don’t recall the details about the kit but I can look for that information if it’s something you might want to consider.
Please, if you have the information on the upgrade kit, it would be helpful. I see a few out there. I'm doing a bunch of other work on the truck because I'm so tired of the "professionals" breaking things when they work on it. So I'm looking at doing the front end myself also. Takes about the same amount of time as finding a place, driving to it and waiting.
I bought the kit from dodgeramsteeringstabilizer.com. I just looked at the website and did not see the kit that I bought. So if you don't see the kit for your truck, you might want to call them.
