Never answered the question, how’s it drive and tire wear ?
It drives fine and tread wear is not a problem. And maybe I should say again that it is 2WD.
Therein lies your answer my friend. If the front end was shot, it wouldn't drive fine and/or it may chew up the tires.
Solution looking for a problem. You're good to go.
What’s this “Solution looking for a problem”?
You asked “how’s it drive (present tense)…?”
Now, with the modification in place, the truck drives fine. But before the modification, the front end shook when we hit a bump and the truck was all over the road. Why would I have spent hundreds of dollars to solve a problem if there was no problem?
Sorry, confused you with the op HadEnough. I thought your response was the OP's response.
All the same, you're talking about a completely different thing. OP is tanking about the outboard components possibly being worn out. You put on a brace that solidifies the steering box. Yes it's supposed to help with wandering by keeping the box from flexing on the frame mount and taking up slop or preventing undue wear on the steering shaft that connects to the pitman.
Pretty much unrelated as a worn steering box doesn't cause ball joints or tie rods to go bad.
Still confused.
I am the OP. Lol
You have us backward. But your knowledge and contribution to my thread has been great so we'll forgive ya. Ha ha ha
