front jack and stickers

What type of lube do I need to use on my power tongue jack?

Also I have some stickers that faded that I want to remove. What's the best thing to use on it that won't hurt the fiber glass

  • I was talking about a jack like this one.

It has a nipple on it for a grease gun on the side.. Whenever I use the jack it's super loud and use to not be.

I use a food grade "dry" silicone lube made by CRC. About $12 a can at Fastenal. No petroleum residue left behind when sprayed on the jack.
  • For removing stickers, vinyl decals, tape, mailing labels, ect. Use the hair dryer on fiberglass. A heat gun could easily damage if you held it in one place for too long.
  • In regards to the power jack, refer to your owner's manual. I've used a spray on dry lube on mine and that was the jack I had on the trailer we just traded in and the jack was still working well after 10 years with just one repair to replace the power switch.

For removing decals, use a hair dryier or heat gun, a plastic putty knife and WD40. Heat up the decal until you can start peeling it off. Once peeled off, spray on WD-40 to remove any adhesive residue. Please note that I used this procedure on a trailer with aluminum siding. So, you may want to see what others have done when dealing with fiberglass or laminated walls.
