Work continues on the 2002 Lance 811, and with the front window out we are wondering if we should leave it out and close up the hole. It seems like around 2005-ish all the manufacturers stopped installing front windows in the cabover, just leaving windows on the sides in the bedroom area. Browsing through late-model TCs for sale on the web, nothing less than 15 yrs old has a front window.Seems like leaving it out would eliminate the need for a shade and valence inside, adding more headroom and length in the sleeping area for this 6'5" guy. Am I missing anything? Is there a reason to keep the front window?

Out, That is one reason that we bought ours is there was NO frt. window

My 1978 Beaver TC had one but it was a pain to open and close the curtain. Therefore it stayed closed.

I’d probably leave it out. Ours came with a mirror on the inside, btw. Helps with more light and a feeling of being larger in that area.

When we rebuilt the front end of the 1030 we took out the front window. Most of the framing in that area was rotted out.
I like the clean look of it being gone. We bought a nice big mountain scene sticker from ebay and placed it on the new metal where the window used to be.

Good point Mellow...I would opt for a good wireless security camera system all the way around...Rather than that leaky, sweaty hole in the wall... Had one only once and never again...have you rubbed up on a dew covered window with your pillow in the morning?
