Frustrated

I have spent hours trying to figure out how to post pictures I tried drag and drop and it don't work. That's why I don't to these forums cause things are to complicated to do it
I don't have a url cause pic are on computer I did the split screen with windows 8 and drag and drop that don't work. I wish forums would have a browse file and just download from that or upload.
  • Just tested the solution by Dakota98, it works well and is very easy. After you copy the url it gives you, just paste it in you message AS IS! Do not use the insert picture button. Have fun.
  • It is simpler if you right-click on the picture at the photo hosting site, and select "Copy Image Location"
  • You are close.

In another thread you tried to post a picture using this:

    http://i.imgur.com/HIfXcCol.jpg"border=0"" border="0" alt="" />

If you had removed everything after .jpg it would have worked.

You should have placed http://i.imgur.com/HIfXcCol.jpg between the IMG brackets

And your picture would have appeared like this:

  • Thank you for the quick replies :) im not a computer guru yet LOL but working on it
  • Open the page you want to use for your posting. Open a second TAB & GO HERE Once you drag & drop, right click & copy the URL shown just below the pic. Go back to the first page & paste. The pic will show up once you have completed your posting & finished.
  • You cannot load photos directly from your computer to this form. The photos have to be linked to an internet photo hosting site. Once uploaded, the photo is given a URL. Using the "Advanced" posting the html "tags" are created before and after the URL for your uploaded photo. If I tried to put the tag in here, this system would think it's a link to the photo, but leaving spaces, it should work to display. In the real link being posted, it would look like this in the edit window (without the spaces): [ i m g ] photo.com/123.jpg [ / i m g ].

Photobucket.com is on such photo hosting site that 100% free. Create a user ID, log in, and simply click and drag your photo to the "library" or directory you create. Once it's uploaded, click on the image to bring it up and on the left is the direct link. Copy this URL and paste it in the RV.net "Edit" window (utility for photos) or type the before and after tags yourself.

It's really pretty simple, and pretty fast once you done it a time or two. Photobucket also give you the ability to edit your photos some, which is nice to resize before posting on RV.net.

Hope this helps. Good luck. But you cannot upload from your computer directly to this site. You have to use a photo hosting site on the internet.
  • You can't have your photos on your computer. They have to be uploaded to an online photo hosting site.

Many forums do not host pictures in order to keep costs down. The disk space to store everyone's pictures costs money.

There are plenty of free photo hosting sites on the web. Just make sure that the photos you upload are not "personal" and nothing you really care about because you are basically releasing them to the public domain, regardless of what copyright law says.
