For those of you that don't have to worry about fuel mileage, good for you. You must have a lot of money. I don't, so I have to budget. I only have so much to spend on vacation and that's it.

Old truck, 7.3l dually. Very heavy trailer at 15k lbs.
Towing, I get anywhere from 7 to 10 mpg, but I own my truck.
The way I see it, if a trip is short, like 200 miles then I don't factor in fuel cost. But when we do 2k or 3k miles then knowing my mpg helps me to determine how far we can go and for how long.
