I don't think the oil has changed, it's Ford realized they need another spec for the PS.
The formulation changed in 2016 I believe. Ford has determined this change is no longer an approved oil due to this.

I could be wrong but the way I understand it when they went to the CK4 formulation there is some difference that Ford does not like. It is still CJ4 approved so it all get confusing.
