Fumoto valve question

I bought one for my '15 after 1st oil change or 2 as the drain plug for the oil is in RR corner on the side of oil pan. NOT a Ford better idea. Anyways, if I recall right, I measured the factory plug, then ordered thru Amazon. So my question is, I'll be due for an oil change after our vacation and would like to replace factory plug w/ a Fumoto valve at that time. How do I go about getting the right size valve ahead of time?

Just be aware you will get even less oil out of your engine with a Fumoto as it's threads are usually taller than the factory pan's drain nut. Also it's possible for someone to be an A-HOLE and reach under and flip the lever.

I did install one on my boats 350, it will make an EASY change next time with running the poly tubing from valve thru drain hole and into oil container.

Not an issue with the 6.7PSD oil pan since the drain plug is mounted at a right angle and the oil pan itself is a little lower at the drain plug location.

  • Yeah, I'm sure someone checks the underside of cars so they can see if there's a Fumoto valve there, so they can crawl under the car and open it. :) There might be a way to put a padlock on one. :)

All the Fumoto valves I have installed are very close to flush with the bottom of the oil pan. I checked so I wouldn't have something sticking way up into the oil. Not a major consideration. I'm not going to be concerned about the fact I might leave less than a pint of oil out of 3 gallons.

  • I just used their Chart to find the right one for my 6.0 Chevy, ordered on Amazon.

I like the one with the short nipple, attach the hose and drain into my Drain Pan quick and clean.
  • In the search bar of you internet, Chrome, Fire Fox or Internet Explorer. Type Fumoto valve for 17 Ford 6.7 Powerstroke. Go to one of those sights read whats going. You might find the answer to your question.
