Thank you. I found my answer just about the time you posted. I found this article which was kind of interesting. Although I can see this trend continuing they will have to strike a balance I suppose. The average EV user using it as a commuter will still be way ahead (depending on mileage driven and vehicle chosen of course) at the end of the year.
Where we live there are no special taxes or fees yet but I suppose as EV's get more popular a balance will need to be found. It will be interesting to see how it develops. Our commute is not that long so our benefits are less than many of our EV owning friends but it is still nice to be able to drive past the gas stations. :)
