OP... test drive them both, also include the Ram with the 6.4 engine. All will be similar in performance for a gas engine. All will be good trucks no matter what you chose. Gas engines have come along way. Much improved with power displacement and gearing to match. Like I said before it comes down to personal taste and what you wallet says. Being a 3/4 ton they will ride ruff at times no doubt. My 09 has the famous GM frame beaming around 50 mph.... fords sometimes have the so called death wobble. I think the newer GM trucks got rid of the frame beaming. I would really like to have the newer one myself but pocket book says no and I only have 80 plus k miles on the 09. So like new as some say. Anyway check them out and let us know what u choose. All will serve you well and all are very reliable for sure.
