Typical numbers I see range between 6 to 14 mpg. The higher numbers are almost always diesel power.
Your vehicle may get 20 when not towing and 8 when towing. Another vehicle may get 15 when not towing and 8 when towing. The range of fuel consumption seems consistent regardless of tow vehicle.
