Gasoline Engine Tuners

Just trying to get a feel for what people are using if any for a tuner on their gasoline tow vehicle. If your happy or not and what kind of results you have seen.
I just sold my Diablosport Intune that I had purchased for my Avalanche 2500. No matter what I did including getting help from tech support the transmission shifts were wayyyyyy toooooo hard! I was scared to hook the trailer up with the tune installed in fear of really damaging the driveline. I did quite a bit of research before I purchased the Intune and thought it was the best value out there. I learned my lesson.

My supercharged 5.3 would shift very very hard, it was the way the set up the trans. I pull my 5th wheel 35,000 miles, never had a problem.
  • I had a Hypertech on my 2008 8.1l Silverado. I think the adjusted shift points was really the only thing I could notice, and oh ya.....had to run high test gas. Really a waste of money. Now I had a Hypertech Stage II on my Corvette and it was really a big kick in the butt but that is more what they are for.

    You know what they say.
"Fool me once, shame on them. Fool me twice, shame on me."

Sounds like you answered your own question about tunes - from your own experience.
  • Black Bear has a good reputation for GMs. But I wouldn't bother for towing.
