Have any of you gas monkeys added a gas transfer tank so you don't have to stop every 200 miles or so when towing?
I know auxiliary tanks are a no go for gas, but it would be nice to just be able to pull off and top off from an on board tank instead of having to exit and find a gas station to navigate.
Where I am it would be especially nice since gas stations can be as much as 100 miles apart.
I bought something similar to this photo a few years ago..

This one currently $175
HERE (bought mine for half the price as new old stock..)
I mounted mine to a couple of 2x6s to give the tank stability from rolling over. Then added in a electric fuel pump like this..

and a fuel filter.
Plug into 12V cig power socket and pumps the tank out in about 10 minutes..
Whenever we pull into a rest area we put the nozzle into our tank filler, flip the pump switch and we now have 150 more miles to be able to tow :)
With our truck tank of 35 gallons and the small 15 gallons tank we now can drive nearly 500 miles without seeking a gas station :B
Makes for a lot less short hops on some of our normal routes often cutting out 4 fuel stops, less stops = less time = happy campers..
