Do you have a set of scales within a reasonable "test drive" distance? I'm shopping for a 3/4 or 1 ton truck. There is a set of CAT Scales about 15 miles from the dealership I will buy from ... makes for a nice test drive to confirm the empty weight.

There is usually a sticker in the glove box that will give you the payload.

Based on 6200 RAWR you can assume between 3500 and 4000 pounds of rear axle weight as it sits at the dealership. Of course this is a lot of assumptions and not worth a hoot since your looking at the rating of one single component, not the entire package!

Yes, the tire loading sticker will tell you the total load that exact truck can carry.

You just need to think of all wt you will put in the truck, including 200#s for the hitch. What is left, is the pin wt available.
