If the unit is still under warranty get it to you dealer and don't take no for an answer. If it's out of warranty best of luck getting an RV manufacturer to cover something just because it's the right thing to do.
I too had an issue with a terribly faded front cap that was out of warranty. After much buffing, polishing and waxing with various (expensive) gel coat products I tried the ZEP Wet Look method. Darned if it didn't turn out just great and has lasted since the spring, which is much longer than any other method I've tried.
