What are you trying to switch? I assume it's 120v, and you probably just need a simple switch, not a DPDT from your question. Could you provide a little more info?

Sounds like OP is trying to make a transfer switch.
The common switch points, normally the center, would go to the load. One end set would go to genset, the other would go to the shore power connection.
You can use L2 for the neutral connections.
The grounds would be spliced straight through.
Is your TH a 30 or 50 amp? If it is a fifty amp, this will not work. You would need a three pole or a standard 50 amp RV transfer switch.
What is make and model of switch?

ONLY the hot needs to be switched.
The ground and common stay connected all the time.

You NEED a multi-meter to be SURE what terminal switches to what though.

Will that REALLY be easier than unplugging one and plugging in the other ??

And why two chargers ? A two or 3 stage charger is fairly easy to find these days that has a high initial rate and then automatically drops to a true float when the battery is full.

Usually L1 and L2 are two hot legs of a 120/240 volt 50 amp RV.

120V 30A Genset and Shore to ATS to AC panal. Using the breaker that feeds the house charger, I would use that hot to the DPDT switch which would operate the boon docking 55amp 14.8V no float charger. The house charger is used for storage or powered campgrounds. It only puts out 13.6V. Dino

Sorry, my Android and desktop are not communicating. I have a genset and shore power connected to the ATS to the AC panel. I would remove the hot from the breaker that feeds the house charger 13.6V and run it to the DPDT switch. One position would feed the boon docking charger 55Amp 14.8V no float type. The other to the house 2Stage charger. I do not want to run my Genset everyday day for long hours and no one likes the noise. The boon docking charger can get the job done in 2 hours every other day. In looking at the DPDT switch, is it possible it is for 30A and/or 50A. In that case L2 is hot as well which is why I should be using the switch grounding screw and connect to the ground/neutral bus bar? Does that sound right? Dino

sam spade gave you the answer. You are only to switch the 120v from one side to the other. The other wires are coupled together (ie. neutral to neutrals and ground to grounds). You run your "hot" from the breaker to the center of the switch (either L1 or L2, it doesn't matter) and then connect the one charger input power wire to the A side (of the same choice of the L1 or L2) and the other charger's input to the B side (of the same choice of the L1 or L2). Thus when the switch is operated one direction, it connects the center to one side, and when flipped the other way, it connects the center to the other side.

NOTE: you are switching AC and the 55 amp versus 30 amp doesn't apply directly... you will likely be switching less than 10 amp AC.
