x2. Db ratings are not gospel either. Two gens may have the same db rating, but the kind of noise makes a difference in how far it carries. I've found Honda to be the best at controlling that, with the 3000 being the quietest there is - to my ears.


the other thing to compare is HOW the db ratings are measured. Is it at the same distance from the generator and same elevation using the same standard test procedure?
