I've owned both generators. The Honda is a little quieter, but not a noticeably significant amount. The Champion does put out more power. I bought the Honda to run the A/C in our older Prowler TT. It wouldn't start the A/C until I put a hard start kit in it. My Champion fires up the 15k A/C in our new trailer no problem in eco mode. And, contrary to one of the previous responders, the Honda is heavier. The Champion also has wheels and a handle to roll. The Honda does have a larger gas tank. I added an exterior pressure tank to my Champion to fix that shortcoming. Everything on mine included, I'm in about $700 total. The Honda is almost three times that.
As for the smaller generators, the pitch of their motors make them more annoying than the larger ones. As I have said many times, if the sound of a Honda is acceptable, then the Champion should be fine too. Not that much difference.
