Actually those little generators have a huge following due to how inexpensive they are. You can check on you tube and see people doing all kinds of things with them. There are little things like replacing the spark plug and following the break in procedure, just make sure you stick a meter in it and see what the out put is. Some of them can be funky.( stick a meter on any generator, never know what you will see)
With running so little, you may not need the generator at all. Our first trip out we went 3 days before the battery got low. At that point I swung the truck around, put on a heavy set of jumper cables and ran the truck for a hour or so. That kept us going for the rest of the week.
That trip we didn't use the lights at all. They are power pigs and we needed every bit of power to keep the furnace running in 26 degree temps. Instead we used small battery operated LED puck lights. They cost a few bucks and run forever on 3 AAA batteries. Sometimes they are free at Harbor freight. Now the LED replacements for the incandescent bulbs are only a few bucks each on ebay, they use very little power.
