Inverter generators produce cleaner electricity that is safe for electronics, computers, etc..
Another option is an open frame generator, relatively inexpensive, and a Quiet Box.
It's more stuff to carry with you but, it will get the job done cheaper than an inverter.
Do a google search for other quiet box ideas.
