The Honda EU3000is is 49dB(A) @ 1/4 load.
The Champion 3100 is at 58db.
Technically, every increase of 3dB represents a doubling of sound intensity, or acoustic power. But a 10db difference is perceived (to the human ear) to be twice as loud.
Now, If they could only make em sound like our wives, I probably couldn't hear them at all! :W
