Look into a Wave3 or Wave6 heater. This will eliminate the need to use the power robbing heater in the TC. I'd ask for a credit of the one battery they give you (its usually a cheap $50 battery at best) and apply it to better, higher capacity batteries. We went with two 6 volts with 246 AH.
I'm adding solar thing spring. We don't use the microwave. No need honestly, just adjusted our cooking habits and prep.
We don't have a genset and I hope solar eliminates the need. Like you, I have a gen box I might put two more batteries in. I think I might be able to put 400 watts of panels on my roof but no AC.....
