2 years ago, bought a Renogy 165W panel/controller. Even on cloudy days, this is good enough to top of the 2 batteries. My generator has not been used at all since.
And the solar controller will do a much better job with lead acid batteries as three hours a day is nowhere near long enough for a good absorb charge.
