I run my generator, in the bed of the truck, while driving. I have a permanently installed 12 gauge extension cord run inside the frame rail of the trailer. One end with a twist-lock connector for my TT power inlet, the other with a regular 3 prong plug for the generator.
How do you secure both ends of the 12g wire when they are not being used? Do you do anything to prevent the wire from rubbing on the trailer body to protect the wire.
The majority of the cable is inside the trailer frame, running with the other wires like the marker lights.
Where it passes through holes front and back, it's protected by plastic wire loom.
To keep it secured I keep it plugged in to the trailer, only a small amount of slack exists at the end. At the front I keep it coiled up and bungied to the rack for my propane bottles.
When in use I toss it over the tailgate and take up slack using the bungie.
