Where can you pick one up for $800? New or used?
Ha, that's funny! At 130 lbs dry, not much under 150 lbs with oil and gas, not many are going to be "picking up" any EU3000iS all that easily regardless of the price! :B :p
$800 US for a used one?! Maybe, but certainly not for a new one. Here in Canada $2000 Cdn would be awfully attractive for a low mileage, used EU3000iS and only occasionally, most often during the dead of winter, have I ever seen one advertised for much less than that ... new an EU3000iS would be $2700+ Cdn out the door. :E
We bought our for about $2300, but that included a wheel kit and an electric start with a key fob. I looked on eBay - could find a couple that were used for $1500, but the standard going price seemed to be $1999. And on eBay, I bet you would pay a handsome penny for the shipping ;o) We also figured that we could keep 10 gal of gas in the storage shed, and for those rare (2 or 3 days a year) that the power is out, fire the sucker up and live in the RV until the power is back in the house.
I guess another question: someone snipped at be a while back about using generators at dog shows and some campgrounds, saying I would have to have some kind of exhaust stack that vents the exhaust upwards. What is that all about? Is this something I need to look at picking up in the future? thanks
