Again, each person has to put CO risk into some kind of perspective that works for them. There are risks and there are opinions, but there are no guarantees.
agreed. IMHO always better to ere on the safe side and pay attention.
when we dry camp and need to use genny, or are around those using a genny, my "rule of thumb" is at least 20ft away from the trailer, exhaust pointed down wind, and not towards others. And watch the CO detector, and don't run the genny while anyone is trying to sleep.
More than once at motorcycle races with lots of packed in folks and generators, a wind change accompanied the smell of exhaust and the CO detector going off.
And one absolute rule I go by is I NEVER EVER put the genny under the trailer to run it. If it's raining, so what, it's still 20ft or so from the trailer in the rain.
