See it all the time in Walmart campgrounds. Not pretty.

I have not seen one but, Outdoors RV has a design not only for a platform but also a mounting system to avoid those errant Genny's "walking off" Since you are in Colorado , one of them shouldnt be too hard to find. I dont know if you can buy one from a dealer, but at least you may find some ideas worth borrowing.

Be aware that mounting the gen to the frame will cause vibrations through out the
frame of the TT and you may hear/feel them while inside. I put my gen far away from the TT and chain it to a tree - use an extension cord to connect to the TT.
It's already a quiet Yamaha gen but this way I don't even hear it.

On occasions that I have had the gen close to the TT - I can smell exhaust fumes.

Bad idea. By mentioning a heat shield, you've implied it's a loud open-frame generator. If I were to run my Honda 2k near something, the only heat I'd be concerned with is the exhaust.

Further, if this is a loud one, it'll be even louder inside if it's that close, up high, and mounted on something that will vibrate. It's best to keep generators out of sight at night rather than any sort of protection devices. But, and I hate to presume, if it's a construction generator you won't have any theft worries.
