Getting all the water out winterizing the water heater

How do you get all the water out of the water heater when winterizing. I know you shouldn't put anti-freeze in there, or maybe you can. Otherwise do you just let what remains in the tank freeze? Than...

I get most of the water out by pulling the plug on the trip back home after every outing, the driving & turning gets most of it out. If there is a very little left in the tank during winter I have been told that it is not an issue if this little bit freezes.

Done this on all 4 of my campers and never had a problem.
