We camp all year in Indiana state parks, and have had nothing but good experiences. Yes, there are some drunks and partiers. There are also unsupervised kids riding their bikes all over the place, including in the road at 11 P.M.
We actually camped at O'Bannon Woods over the Fourth of July holiday two years ago and didn't experience any of the problems DutchmenSport had. In fact, it is one of our favorite state parks (Brown County is our "home" park).
I have found the park rangers and camp hosts at Indiana state parks to be as good or better than those at state parks in other states, and I have camped in 47 other states.
Look, state parks, especially on holiday weekends, will bring out the drunks and the families with 12 kids on one campsite. That is the nature of camping at a state park.
I will still take it over just about any commercial campground. We love the nature centers, the guided ranger walks, and having 100+ miles of trails right outside our campsite.
