A few weeks ago, my GFI was tripping. Everything in the kitchen was dead, and I noticed that my converter had also stopped working. (The converter in my fifth-wheel was located in the front storage compartment under the "nose".) A folding chair in its nylon sack had moved during travel so that it was touching the converter's ground wire. Moving that sack away from the converter fixed the problem.
Before replacing anything, I would check everything that might be on the circuit with the GFI, including the converter. We used to have a pop-up, and the converter was in an under-seat storage area in which I had all kinds of stuff.
