We just got back from our first major trip with the GSR and were happy with them. We were in Yosemite for a week -- very cold and snowy. The only downside that we found is that after a full day of driving home in ice, snow, and slush loaded with grit, sand, and gravel, the scissor hinges got a little stiff. I rinsed them off with a hose, and they are now fine.
