Glow Step Revolution: Pros & Cons (See Update in 1st Post)

I'm am intersted in the Glow step and may purchase a set before next season. My concern is. How hard are they to set up. How much effort does it take to level steps with the grounds supports on the bottom step.
Do you have to use ground support every time?
I keep mt RV at home if I were just going to the RV to get something out of it would I have to fully deploy the steps including ground support legs. Or could I lower steps with out leg for quick one trip in and out use.
