Wow! I went to the RV show a couple days ago, and went in and out of many trailers. Since I have used my GlowSteps for a couple weekends, I am used to them. I still remember my old steps, and I didn't have a complaint with them. BUT...
So many of the trailers I went in and out of had steps that I could only describe as "crappy"! Some were so lightweight that they swayed left-right while going up or down. Others were a long way between steps, and from the trailer floor to the first step. Some had over a foot of drop from the lowest step to the floor/ground.
I would have complained about those steps even if I had not gotten the Glow Steps. But, after using the Glow Steps and seeing how adjustable they are, and how stable they are, it just really hit me at how bad many "factory" steps are. If I had any of those trailers that I thought had flimsy steps, or long distances between steps, I would want the Glow Step, no doubt.
I did not get anything additional for this rant about factory steps. It just hit me how bad so many are. I see why Glow Step felt there is a market for their steps. My original TrailManor steps were very good, compared to most of what I experienced at the RV show, and I am happy I have the Glow Steps replacing them. For many other trailers, the Glow Step will be a massive improvement in stability and usability.
My only question to Torklift is: Why don't you have a booth at RV shows? The steps alone would sell, as people could see how much better they are than factory steps on most trailers!
