I had not thought about the timing of deploying the steps, but after reading a couple of questions about it, I just timed it. I was alone, so I was reading my watch, so that might add a second to each end. It took me 8 seconds to deploy the steps and get them on the ground and ready to walk up.......8 seconds, people. Our old steps took me about 3 seconds, but I broke several fingernails bringing out the 2nd step. I'm camping, so 5 seconds do not mean that much to me and if I was in that much of a hurry, I should have left the day before!!
I also heard from Kerstin at Torklift and it was my understanding that it would be several months before we received a replacement set of steps - they were working out some of the concerns that were noted in the surveys from the testing period.
While it may not seem like much.,Torlift's take 3 times as long to set up. I agree while camping the difference is negligible, But when just running out to the trailer while it's parked at home the difference maybe a deal breaker.
Anymore set up than I currently have with traditional steps gives me a reason to question paying more for the inconvenience. I wan't say it a deal breaker. But it is enough of a showstopper that I need to now see steps in person before I place an order.
