I also did it by myself using my Samsung S5 for a stopwatch. Had the S5 on a stool close by. These times included un-latching and re-latching the keeper pin.

Up (seconds)
10.16, 10.33, 9.83

I sure beat my original estimated time of 20 seconds.
The cord is handy for keeping the keeper pin close by.

By the way Lantley, my steps stay down all the time my trailer is parked at home in the back yard. Very convenient.
